WILDERNESS ADVENTURE
Experience Saskatchewan’s north at its finest!
Haskins Bay Fly-In offers guests the chance to immerse themselves in nature and have a wilderness adventure like no other. Our camp is is secluded and private – no staff, no neighbors, no other guests – just you and miles of Boreal Forest landscapes to explore.
After a short floatplane flight, guests have use of all camp facilities upon arrival including a fully-stocked cook cabin, bunkhouse with a hot-water cedar shower, a spacious deck, and a firepit. With no guides on site, days are unscheduled and self-directed. Spend your time however you wish!
ON THE WATER
Haskins Bay Fly-In provides a number of options for getting out to explore Florence Lake, whether you’re looking for some self-propelled fun or a little motorized assistance. Guests have use of 16′ motor boats, recreational kayaks, fishing kayaks, and canoes.
The fishing is great (for those looking to catch their own dinner), but if that’s not your thing, there are miles of shoreline, islands, bays, inlets, and creeks to explore as you wish. Pack a lunch and make a day of it, stopping off at whatever little piece of shoreline looks inviting.
ON LAND
If exploring by foot is more your thing, a network of short, easy trails adjacent to the camp provides quick access to a nice forest walk. Great for early morning or after-dinner jaunts. For those looking for a bigger challenge, old industry roads in the area provide longer hiking opportunities.
On land you’ll find mixed coniferous forests, mature pine stands, marshlands, and rocky outcrops. The area has numerous boreal plants and fungi to admire or even forage for dinner.
Photographers will appreciate the opportunities for wildlife and unobscured night-sky viewing. Wildlife common to the region include beavers, loons, spruce grouse, eagles, pelicans, caribou, moose, wolves, and black bear among others. Clear nights offer up a night sky free of light pollution and maybe even a chance to see the northern lights.
Haskins Bay Fly-In is operated as a light housekeeping (self-serve) camp. We have no guides or staff on site. We book only one group at a time. Guests are responsible for providing their own supplies, as well as cooking, cleaning, and general operations (fueling the boats, operating generators, etc.) while in camp.
It’s a true remote, off-grid, northern Saskatchewan experience!
